Farm activities are central to the Mowbray Park Farmstay experience, children (and adults) love the animal nursery which we visit via a tractor ride each morning. You will help us feed animals of all sizes from donkeys, alpacas, geese and ducks, goats and sheep; you might help bottle feed a calf; you will certainly help us milk Lucy our cow.
From the nursery we are back on the tractor and away we go for the pony rides, a lead pony ride is so popular at Mowbray Park we make sure we do this twice a day.
After the pony rides we head out on the optional horse trail ride this for those 8years age and above, guided by us you will take in the beautiful surrounds as we wind ourselves around the farm and get back in time for lunch at 12.30pm.
If you’re not on the ride then after some morning tea (self help is always available) go and discover some of the things you can do as a family or group, canoeing, archery, tennis, swimming, fishing, mountain bike riding (BYO bike) even an orienteering course, you could always take a well earned break.
After lunch we are back into it with those all important pony rides then afternoon activities that vary from day to day. We like to have you back at the lodges about 4.30-5.00pm so you can get ready for dinner. After dinner the campfire will be glowing and we might just bring the marshmallows out.
During school holidays and weekends we can offer Kids Club to allow you to take the afternoon horse ride whilst we keep the kids amused this is also available for the evening so adults can enjoy dinner , the kids can be fed at 5.30pm up to the ‘Kids Club’ room at 6pm, we bring them back at 8pm.
