Barkers Lodge is the earliest home on Mowbray Park FarmStay. The road you will travel on from Picton to the farm is ‘Barkers Lodge Road’; it is a significant part of local history dating back to the early 1800’s.
Barkers Lodge has hosted many of this countries political alumni from the 19th century. It was once a repatriation hospital for WW1 veterans and at one time the ‘executive holiday residence’ for the ‘big Australian’ BHP.
Today you can soak up this amazing history in the historic lodge, we have two family rooms upstairs and two twin share rooms downstairs, each with private ensuite. Storage and hanging space in each room and extra blankets should you need.
Each room has A/C & heating.
The communal lounge is the original ‘billiards’ room. As well as the full size table this lounge has TV/DVD, a majestic open fire, an area to make a cup of tea or coffee and some reading material as well.
We will always offer you what we consider the most suitable lodge for your needs but remember you can request a lodge as well.
