Milking cows and so much more!

Our 4 year old has been talking about wanting to milk a cow for months! Not all farmstays offer a milking option so we were delighted to find Mowbray Park. Our daughter was thrilled to fulfil her milking dream and said, ‘It made my day better!’ Our 11 year old son also had fun. Lots of other families with young kids made for a truly happy time. Sometimes it's the simple things that are best - friendly competition at the ping pong table, playing tennis with one of the farm dogs joining in to catch the ball, toasting marshmallows.... George was a kind and knowledgeable teacher at the animal nursery, the campfire, and boomerang and whip lessons. The natural horsemanship display from Jacqui was fascinating and we learnt such a lot from Blair’s shearing demonstration. Thanks so much to everyone!

Well thank you for coming to stay with us, the dogs are good at tennis and destroying the balls! We had a great holiday period our wonderful families engaged with us and each other a real joy to watch. Hope you can find the time to come back and visit us again, would love to see you. Cheers

Wonderful! Family friendly!

Absolutely wonderful short holiday. We stayed two nights with 2 children under 2 in alverna front during school holidays and it was wonderful. Plenty to do even with little ones and the staff were great with the kids. Its a farm stay so accomodation is simple but very clean. We self catered which was easy enough as picton town centre isnt far. We will be back.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Great that you would bring two young kids down and give them that farm type exposure and experience. We try to get that balance between outright fun and a look at how we live (and cope) with the day to day requirements of a working farm, in drought! Pleased to report we have had almost 50mm of rain over the week, whilst not drought breaking it is spirit lifting. Look forward to seeing you again. Cheers

One of the best places I’ve stayed with my little one. We were only the 2nd guests to stay in the “Tiny House” a little mini house which was perfect for me and my 3 year old. We chose self catered and enjoyed cooking our own food on the bbq or in the little kitchenette of the house. All activities are organised from the morning til late afternoon. Tractor rides, animal feeding, sheep shearing, pony rides, damper making you’re never bored. There’s even an awesome playground for the little ones to climb on Old bikes and tractors and pretend play. Tennis courts, swimming pool, archery, fishing, bike riding are all available in the downtime. Can’t recommend this enough. I’ll certainly be returning again and again. Thanks Blair and Jacqui

Thanks Melisa, so pleased you had a great time, we really love the Tiny Houses. You made the most of your time on the farm got involved with everything managed a bit of chill time (bonus)
We still have a couple of minor things to iron out with the Tiny Houses but they are definitely very cool, Jacqui and I are going to have a sleep over in one of them!
Look forward to seeing you again. Cheers.

Wonderful three days

I can't imagine a better farmstay for children. I appreciated the way the owners and staff taught the children about caring for animals. The horse riding instruction was superb, and our big girl loved her treks. I liked the way no two days were identical. The bush dance was a wonderful way for us to end our trip. My granddaughters have returned able to milk a cow AND dance the macarena!

Really glad we met your expectations, we get a lot of joy from this. It was a great few days had a lot of fun, that some learning happened is fantastic. Cheers.

Time to relax

Nice farmstay. We had a good time with all the activities and felt at home and relaxed with the friendly staff. Great place to get away from it all and some good bass fishing in the dam to (catch and release). Thanks for a great time.

Hi Paul, thanks very much for coming down to the farm we had a great time with you here. Well done with the fishing, I'm going to get one of those lures and have a go myself. Hope to see you again sometime. Cheers.

A HUGE thank you for having our family day visit last Tuesday.  We ALL had the best time (as usual).

From the moment we arrive and the very lovely Elise welcomes us, it feels good!  After so many visits now her warm, happy face lets us begin the day well.  Elise, we are always excited to see you again.

The four grandchildren love all the activities, the animals, the park, the dogs, the tractor, the pony rides (never want to get off), the tennis, (bit windy for the canoe this time) and have so much delight in going to your "farm restaurant", especially sitting and eating a gorgeous meal together as a family. The room is presented so pretty and with very delicious food, so compliments to the kitchen.

Family Favourite : The whole family look forward to the camp fire and damper in the afternoon.  Farmer Steve was very nice in sharing his stories about farm life and his love of horses; passing on the passion and culture.

Your backpacker Joe, what a lovely fellow he is.  More that once he was so kind to me.  Made me feel cared for (with my bad knee).

Blair, we love seeing you each year but this year was particularly special.  The shearing of the sheep.  What a wonderful treat and experience.  So educational and practical for the children and as my big daughter expressed to you and she is 41 years..... "learnt things so didn't know".  You do it great.

Jacqui, always nice to say hello to you, as we did.  Keeping your family farm, keeping the history, keeping people loving your special corner of the world, we say, ....  you are a very wonderful, insightful lady and we appreciate you.

A great team! .....  we look forward to the next time.  Happy memories.
